This general-purpose machine gun has been used in every US military branch. It’s a belt-fed crew-served weapon (typically 2-3 crew) which began development during WW2 and is still in use today. The unwieldy weapon was nicknamed “The Pig” during the Vietnam War. The weapon is being generally phased out due to it’s unreliability in humid conditions and extended use.
