Full plate armor is a metal suit which completely encases the wearer. Lighter suits, known as platemail, have fewer plates and use chainmail in the gaps. The plates of plate armor are carefully articulated, allowing for surprising flexibility. Higher quality plate armor is often fitted to the wearer, although largely restricted to the wealthy and jousters. Plate armor sometimes incorporates “pieces of exchange” - parts which can be switched out for different purposes. Like most metal armor, it does not protect against electricity damage.
